EverRealm A LitRPG Novel Level Dead Volume 1 Jake Bible Books
I became a fan of Jake Bible thru his zompoc books and have enjoyed several of his sci-fi stories as well, so I grabbed this new book to check out.I was drawn into the story immediately and found the fantasy land of the game world intriguing. The overall story has a bit of a YA feel to it, and I enjoyed the mash up of genres.... kind of a zombie apocalypse meets fantasy kind of thing.
While it might not become one of my top favorite Jake Bible worlds, it's fun and enjoyable and I will continue with the story if another book comes out.

EverRealm A LitRPG Novel Level Dead Volume 1 Jake Bible Books Reviews
Held my attention kept me wanting to find out what's was going to happen next.I think it's a very good read.
If you're around 40 you might remember the cartoon "Dungeons & Dragons." In it a bunch of teens get magically transported from our world to a D&D realm. They are given magic items and befriend a baby unicorn they name Uni (so maybe the 80's weren't big on original pet names) and have several adventures. This story has a similar vibe, though the circumstances are different.
Set in the future when virtual reality gaming has given way to full immersion technology, a group of adult gamers from across the country meet in this simulated world and form a clique. Due to the coinciding zombie apocalypse, they decide to abandon reality altogether to live eternally via technology.
The group meets up in "The Center", the staging location for entering various virtual worlds, short two members. One arrives late and warns of their final companion's fate of being bitten by a zombie, and then turns into one himself. Through the immersion tech, zombies also manage to enter the virtual realm and instantly cause chaos.
The story shifts to EverRealm, a fantasy world simulation, where the characters soon learn that this world too has been invaded by zombies. What was once supposed to be their eternal haven has become more troubling than the real world they fled. They, along with Steve's dog Hollow (who also entered EverRealm and plays a similar but more important role than the aforementioned Uni) are assigned a quest.
This story is hilarious! Steve, the main character, hates the EverRealm sim but is stuck there. All he wants is to leave and start enjoying eternity in his own simulated world of Technopia. No dice. The more he complains the worse things get for him, and the funnier it is for us!
With a cast of diverse, likable characters, irreverent dialogue, and a well crafted plot, Jake Bible has another hit series! Ditch reality and log in to EverRealm.
Really bad. The whole story made no sense.
The idea was very good but the execution was not to my personal taste. I almost enjoyed the book. I will not be continuing the series.
When I got this book I was on the edge of not getting it, it just didnt seem like my thing.... However I quickly got into it and could not put it down. Good read even if you are not into LitRPG! Now the wait till the next one comes out
Only found a couple of mistakes, so this was very well written. No loot is gathered from defeated enemies and the only stats shown are the mc's. I have to call this the softest litrpg I've run into.
I can still recommend it as a fun read though.
Our lead main character is highly cynical and oblivious to how other people are feeling, until this is pointed out to him. He disparages fantasy role playing games preferring cyberpunk. His pet dog, Holo, is a laugh, and definitely would like to be seeing more of him in the next book.
Some of the other characters need to be fully fleshed out, as they are just support at the moment.
An interesting read, with very little of the standard RPG or MMORPG mechanics being shown to you. I think that we get to see his stats about 10 times total, but we don't actually get to see him levelling or choosing skills - this all seems to happen out of scene.
Anyway, not too bad, but 'tis more of a zombie apocalypse in a fantasy RPG.
