This comprehensive encyclopedia of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy has over 700 entries. This includes biographies of 668 people involved in the case. The encyclopedia also looks at the possibility that different organizations such as the Mafia, CIA, FBI, Secret Service, KGB and the John Birch Society might have been involved in the planning of the assassination. Other possibilities such as anti-Castro activists, Texas oil millionaires and the Warren Commission's lone-gunman theory are also looked at.

For me personally, John Simkins JFK encyclopedia is very worthy of more than just 5 stars. What happened in 1963 is difficult but all the information that has come out of this mess is what's really the nightmare. That's why this Bibliography & Index is priceless. Outstanding publication to help ID State Crimes.Most strongly Recommend for cross referencing to the big picture that helps clarify the issues, pro and or con . Not all of it, but a major tool. I just really started to look closer into this a few years ago but I know that I hit big time payday when I came across this work. There's about 240 of the more known to less known authors, pro or con regarding what happened that day referenced in the Bibliography. Outstanding tool to get the outline regarding hundreds of people and how they fit in the big picture. Most strongly recommend for quick reference but you can spend hours just reading about one person alone. The author presents an outstanding publication and I most strongly recommend it.

Strange no reviews...
Nearly 9000 pages of John Simkins JFK encyclopedia...especially helpful on the lesser known individuals and organisations. Lots of input from other researchers and links to important works.
Can't go wrong with adding this to your collection. Very handy.
Although this a very elaborate book it was hard to figure the key concepts and how it related to JFK. This book is best for high literacy readers who like history. John did do a good job but just be a little more brief. Even though its an encyclopedia)
If you're familiar with Simkin's Spartacus website, you know there is an overwhelming amount of tremendous research about the JFK assassination and Cold War-related subjects collected there, and on this edition. It's great to see it all gathered together here.
Very helpful backgrounder in getting a rounded view of the events.
A must have for the literati
John Simkin has not only an encyclopedic knowledge of this subject, but has also an ability to link together disparate strands of this complex topic in an interesting fashion. Many of the more obscure characters and events and not only covered but are referenced and connected so that a particular thread can be followed across several entries. This is a massive 9000 page work that contains background information on so many minor organizations and sideline characters that you would be hard pressed to find a missing entry of any consequence.
This book is exactly what it says it is an encyclopedia. There is a brief narrative at the beginning about the assassination, but the real meat of the book is the material gathered on many names that pop up in the conspiracy books. Each person gets a fairly thorough treatment so that you know who they are and how they fit into the assassination theories that are put out there by conspiracy authors, etc. That makes the book very worth while. I have the version and there are numerous links to websites and other locations to pull in the data for each character.
My major beef with this book is that the grouping of the people could be more granular. He has a lot of people in 4 or 5 groups They are not listed alphabetically within those groups which makes searching for them if you want to find out some background data a bit daunting. It will take patience. However, if you want to browse and take the characters as they come, it is very informative and has helped me understand a couple of the theories I have read in the past few months. Worth the money and the will reward the effort you put into locating the person of interest.
